SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos III ‘the Great’, 222-187 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.69 g, 12 h), Nisibis, circa 211-209/8. Diademed head of Antiochos III to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to outer left, M; to outer right, O. SC 1129.3a. WSM 837 and pl. IX, 5 (same dies). A beautiful piece with a delightful idealized portrait. A few tiny marks and with very light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
